Spring time in King Eddie's

Glorious sunshine this weekend. So nice to see local community playing footy, cricket, in the play area, at the outdoor gym and a group chilling to Cold Play tunes

Come to Our Community Hub Meeting for King Eddie's Bowls Pavilion

Please attend our meeting to discuss our application to create a Community Hub

When: 7pm Tuesday 24th May 2016

Where: Ujima House, 388 High Road Wembley
(above Honey Pot Nursery, opposite Ark Elvin Academy formerly Copland School)

Why: Brent Council have put the Bowls Pavilion back on the market with end of May deadline for submissions.

This is our last chance to create a Community Hub in King Eddie's Park for park goers, the people of Wembley and Brent

We submitted a proposal in December 2015 that was rejected. With your support we hope to create a Community Hub that King Eddie's parkgoers can enjoy for years to come.

Please contact us if you would like to attend: friendsofkingeddies@gmail.com

Brent Council Say 2 Weeks til King Eddie's Park works are finished

Brent Council say: "We are looking at a 2 week stretch to completion of works."

Here's a little more detail from the Council...

Last "week they had laser graded that land.

Subject to the continued good weather, they will be doing final cultivation, followed by stone picking (by machine...) They will then lay the sand, seed.

This should take two weeks and it should all be green.

The Heras fence will come down."

This Sunday the sun is shining in King Eddie's. We at FKEP can't wait to see the fence come down and the park accessible to local residents and visitors alike.

Works in King Eddie's Should Re-Commence Soon

Positive News from Brent Council, who say:

"[T]he contractor... has been making regular visits to the site to judge the conditions."

They go on to state that the contractor will be in Brent "with a view to completing the outstanding operations.  The weather forecast is very promising so hopefully all cultivations and sand amelioration can be completed over the next couple of weeks because of the decent spell in the weather."

Friends of King Eddie's Park really do hope that the works are completed soon. We've heard from many of you that you've missed the western half of the park and can't wait for it to be accessible again. We too are eager for the works to be finished.
